This is why BBL requires 1/3 of the Starlux fluence for the same treatment with better penetration to vessels and pigment! It also has far less discomfort, and fewer side effects. Easy to demonstrate. In side-by-side patients will refuse Starlux after getting treated by both. I have tried both on myself and the difference is huge. I had a new Starlux when I was developing BBL and did a lot of research on both.
The SmoothCool is similar in the waveguide and filters to the BBL. In fact all modern IPLs do whatever they can to avoid photon recapture. What is not shown in this presentation is the filters. Starlet requires bulk filters because of the wide angle photons. BBL and newer systems user refractive coatings which are much more precise and eliminate wide angle photons.[kml_flashembed publishmethod=”static” fversion=”9.0.0″ movie=”http://perigee.com/wp-content/uploads/PhotonRecycleMyths.swf” width=”1100″ height=”800″ targetclass=”flashmovie” play=”true” menu=”false” quality=”best”]
